CPC30318 – Certificate III in Concreting


This is a licensed occupation. check with relevant state and territory licensing and regulatory authorities. State and Territory jurisdiction may have different regulatory requirements. There are no entry requirements for this course. to be eligible for a traineeship. applicants must: 

  • Be at least 15 ears of age
  • Have completed year 10 
  • Be employed in the concreting field of the building and construction industry 


What will I learn?

  • Excavation work
  • Formwork carpentry
  • Laying/forming concrete into bare or decorative patterns
  • Different finished (e.g. stencilling, stamping, exposed aggregate).



This qualification can be delivered in the following ways: 

  • Two (2) years as a full-time trainee; or
  • Four (4) years as a school based trainee; or
  • RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for experiencecd workers who wish to obtain a qualification. as well as on-the-job training by the employer component of the traineeship, the RTO will deliver face-to-face off the job trianing through day release. 


A minimum of 3 elective units are to be specialist concreting units (coded ‘CO’) from the elective units listed below.

The remaining elective units may be chosen from the elective units listed below or any Certificate III or Certificate IV qualifications in CPC08 or another current Training Package or accredited course.

Some units in this qualification may have prerequisite requirements, which must be met when packaging the qualification. Users are referred to the list of CPC08 units with prerequisite unit requirements available in this Training Package for this purpose.

To achieve this qualification, you will be required to show competency in 20 units

Assessment Requirements

Participants will be required to successfully complete a series of assessment tasks which may include a written exam, practical demonstration / observation, case studies, assignments and group activities.

RPL candidates will be required to complete an application form, supply a resume and evidence of work activities such as references, testimonials, trade licenses, job descriptions etc. Candidates are interviewed by the assessor and in most cases the assessor will want to watch you work, performing specific tasks or jobs on site. The assessor will identity any gaps in your skills and will recommend you undertake additional training.



This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.
