The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. the construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Participants will be required to successfully complete a series of assessment tasks which may include a written exam, practical demonstration / observation, case studies, assignments and group activities.
RPL candidates will be required to complete an application form, supply a resume and evidence of work activities such as references, testimonials, trade licenses, job descriptions etc. Candidates are interviewed by the assessor and in most cases the assessor will want to watch you work, performing specific tasks or jobs on site. The assessor will identity any gaps in your skills and will recommend you undertake additional training.

A minimum of 3 elective units are to be specialist concreting units (coded ‘CO’) from the elective units listed below.
The remaining elective units may be chosen from the elective units listed below or any Certificate III or Certificate IV qualifications in CPC08 or another current Training Package or accredited course.
