A tip truck is a truck used for transporting loose materials (such as sand, gravel or dirt) for construction. A typical tip truck is equipped with an open-box bed, which is hinged at the rear and equipped with hydraulic pistons to lift the front, allowing the materials in the bed to be deposited (dumped) on the ground behind the truck at the site of delivery.
It is important to follow all appropriate procedures and guidelines when operating a Belly Dump Truck. This will ensure the belly dump is operated within applicable guidelines and that work is conducted in a safe manner.

The duration will vary depending on your background and experience. There is a logbook that must be completed with on-the-job training, they have tasks listed in the front of the logbook that must be completed a certain number of times each, the amount of times will vary depending on your level of experience. Assessment cannot be conducted until these tasks have been completed and the assessment may take from 4 to 8 hours to complete.
This course is suitable for those who wish to operate a Tip Truck within the Civil Construction, Coal and Metalliferous Mining and Extractive Industries.
Yes - participants may be required to undergo a competency test
Successful students receive a Statement of Attainment which is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
